The aox show queue command displays information about the messages Archiveopteryx currently has spooled for delivery to its smarthost.
Archiveopteryx spools mail for many reasons — autoreplies or vacation messages, forwarded mail, user-submitted messages, etc. All of those are stored in the deliveries table, and show queue displays their current status.
Normally, messages stay in the queue only very briefly, so show queue shows nothing. If the smarthost is down or there is some other problems, then the spool may grow. If it does, you can flush it with aox flush queue.
